What to do if you don't receive email updates for your alerts as expected.

If you don't receive alert emails as expected

FotoWeb's alerts are based on the modification time of the files. When it triggers the alert the first time, it will send an email with information about all the assets that match the set criteria. Subsequent emails will only include assets with a newer modification date that those included the last time it ran.

This means that adding new assets to an archive may not trigger the alert if their modification stamp was at a time before the last alert query was run by FotoWeb.

So how can I test alerts?

One way to test an alert is to date stamp files that match the alert's search criteria with the current date and time and add them to the archive before the alert is run. They will then be found on the next run and will trigger an email notification.
