Changing colors and fonts in a custom metadata editor

How to change fonts and colors in a custom metadata editor.

Changing field colors

To change the default colors in a metadata editor, click on the Editor properties tab in the Metadata editor designer and choose colors from the Item background colors node.

Active fields: The color of the field in which the input cursor is set.

Inactive field: The color of other fields which do not currently take text input.

Disabled fields: The color of fields that have been marked as read-only by removing the Allow to edit property on the Item properties page.

Required fields: The color of fields that have the Field is required property set on the Item properties page.

Changing fonts

Open the Editor properties tab in the Metadata editor designer and choose fonts under the Fonts node. Different fonts can be set for different elements:

Labels: The font type and size used for field labels in the editor.

Edit controls: The font type used in metadata input fields.

Group boxes: The font and size used for group box labels.

Note: When changing fonts you may have to move fields slightly to accommodate a larger or a different type of font.
