User types in the Fotoware solution

Fotoware SaaS has two registered, licensed user types - Consumers and Editors. This article lists the features available to each user type.

Availability is dependent on plan. For more information about plans, features, and optional add-ons, contact Fotoware.

Guest user

A guest user is an unauthenticated user with limited access to the site via the guest portal.  Archives still have to be configured for guest access by granting Everyone access.

Edit metadata Add or change metadata to assets stored in Fotoware archives. Not supported.
Note: Consumers can add metadata to assets they upload during the upload process. Metadata cannot be edited post-upload.

Alerts Used when a user wants to be notified about new assets on the site that match specific search criteria. Not supported. Supported.
Consent management Use custom templates to manage consent for using images or other media. Consumers can request consent, manage consent forms, and link assets.

Version Control This feature keeps any number of revisions of an asset when it is updated. Revisions are kept when changes are made to the assets themselves and when changes are made to an asset's metadata. Consumers can use all Version Control functionality apart from viewing asset revisions (version history).

Plugins for Microsoft Office (Word / PowerPoint) Plugins to let users place pictures, graphics, and video from Fotoware in Word or PowerPoint via a side panel in Office. Supported Supported
