Color Factory running on a virtual server appears to hang when the service is started.
Color Factory memory defragmentation is probably enabled. This makes Color Factory allocate a big chunk of memory when the service starts before releasing it again. Since VMWare does not release the memory, it remains allocated and can slow down other virtual servers on the host.
Disable memory defragmentation in Color Factory when running on a virtual server:
- In Color Factory Settings, select Global Options in the console tree and open the Process Environment tab.
- Select Disable memory defragmentation.
- Save the configuration (Ctrl-S) and restart the Color Factory service.
