What are the differences between a Standard and an Extended action?

Standard actions

Standard actions are available to all users. They carry over all the functionality that was available to users in FotoWeb 7 and in that respect cover legacy functionality. Extended actions are available to FotoWare Main users and FotoWare Pro users from FotoWare version 8 and offer greater functionality.

For FotoWare systems that have been upgraded from version 7 to 8, you can upgrade the user licenses to the new FotoWare Main user to access to all the new features that are available for the new FotoWare Main user.

A standard action has these possibilities:

Extended actions

Extended actions offer more functionality and are available to users with a FotoWare Main user or a FotoWare Pro user license. Users with a standard license will not see these actions in their user interface.

Extended actions offer all the functionality in the standard actions as well as several additional power features.

The articles in the Creating and configuring actions guide explicitly state which features are extended and, consequently, require users to have a a FotoWare Main user or a FotoWare Pro user license.

Extended Pro actions

These are actions that are only available to users with a FotoWare Pro license, and the functionality is only available in the FotoWeb Pro user interface.

The articles in the Creating and configuring actions guide explicitly state which features are reserved for Pro users only.
