Creating a workflow with FTP
Creating a workflow with FTP
Having an FTP group as input in a workflow means that the workflow will process any assets uploaded by users within that group.
This workflow is particularly useful when receiving assets from external sources, such as freelancers or other external contributors who require a transfer channel to upload files to your system.
The following limitations apply:
- Group deletion: You can't delete an FTP group used in a workflow (enabled or disabled). Plan your groups accordingly. For more information, see Group management.
- User management: Ensure users are correctly managed within groups to maintain security and workflow integrity. For more information, see User management.
- Protocol support: Currently, Flow supports FTPS and SFTP using username and password authentication only. Key-based authentication for SFTP is not supported at this time.
To create a workflow with FTP as the upload source, select a template supporting FTP. Once you've selected the appropriate template:
- Select the Get external assets node in the workflow editor.
- Select the FTP group you want to use from the dropdown list of all available FTP groups.
- Complete the workflow configuration.
