Applies to:FotoWare 8.0 Feature Release 4
Problem:
A video or audio file fails to transcode correctly. What can be done?
Solution:
Users with the Re-transcode permission in an archive have the possibility to attempt to re-transcode the original asset.
Re-transcoding a file in FotoWeb
Select the asset that should be re-transcoded in the grid and then choose the Re-Transcode option in the Action bar.
Re-transcoding a file in FotoWeb Pro
Select the asset that should be re-transcoded in the grid and then open the Asset information panel (Keboard shortcut T). The click on the Re-Transcode button (cogwheels) at the bottom of the panel transcode the file again.
Tip: In FotoWeb Pro, the thumbnail updates automatically when transcoding of the asset completes.
What if the asset still fails to transcode?
- Check the list of supported formats for the audio and video transcoder.
- Try to play the video back in another application - such as VLC
- You may also contact FotoWare support and give them a sample of the file that fails to transcode to assist in troubleshooting.
