How to create a FotoWeb debug log for troubleshooting

When contacting FotoWare support for help troubleshooting your DAM, you may be asked to attach a debug log to the support case. This topic explains how that is accomplished.

  1. Stop the FotoWeb service.

  2. Delete all current logs in C:\ProgramData\FotoWare\FotoWeb\Operations\Logs.

  3. Open the Operations Center, go to the FotoWeb tab and choose Configuration | Open. FotoWeb Server settings open in a separate tab.

  4. Now open the Service Options tab and choose the System Logging node.

  5. Under FotoWeb log service, choose Debug, and then click Save in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

  1. Start the FotoWeb service.

  2. Repeat the steps in the FotoWeb UI that resulted in the faulty behavior. This will output information about the malfunction to the logs. It is also a good idea to make a note of the time, as this will make it easier to look up the relevant log entries.

  3. Stop the FotoWeb service.

  4.  Zip all the debug logs in C:\ProgramData\FotoWare\FotoWeb\Operations\Logs and attach them to the support case.

  5. Turn off debug logging again (set it back to Information - the default value).

  6. Start the FotoWeb service to resume normal operation.
