Fotostation has two available color schemes. By default, it will launch with a dark appearance after installation, but that can easily be changed:

In the program menu, choose File | Configuration (Fotostation | Configuration... on Mac).

Expand the General tab and choose the Miscellaneous node. In the Appearance section, choose the color theme. You can also specify the color of selected assets in the grid by picking a new Selection color.
