Overview
Fotoware gives you the flexibility to integrate Cloudflare or other CDN/proxy services in front of your Fotoware Veloz tenant. This can be a good option if you already use Cloudflare for performance optimization or additional security layers in your infrastructure. Our services include robust security and advanced DDoS protection by default, so adding Cloudflare is not required. However, if you choose to use it, you can do so safely—provided the configuration follows the guidelines outlined in this article.
When set up correctly, Cloudflare will not interfere with Veloz functionality. We’ve tested common Cloudflare features to ensure compatibility, and this article highlights which configurations are supported and which may cause issues. Misconfigured caching, rewriting, or proxy rules can disrupt authentication, API communication, or file delivery; therefore, it’s essential to review the recommendations carefully before making any changes.

Domain configuration
Recommended: Use a CNAME record pointing to tenant-name.fotoware.cloud. This ensures proper routing and minimizes the risk of service disruption.
Alternative: Use an A record pointing directly to an IP address. This is not recommended. Fotoware cannot guarantee IP stability, and service IPs may change without notice.

Unsupported configurations
Fotoware cannot validate or guarantee that custom Cloudflare rules (such as WAF, rate limits, transformations) will work correctly with Veloz tenants. Misconfigured caching, rewriting, or proxy rules can break authentication, API communication, or file delivery.
