Identity Service (IDS) – Front-end refresh

This release introduces a major update to the FotoWare Identity Service (IDS), focusing on improved security, a smoother sign-in experience, and a modernized interface.

• Security improvements
  These changes reduce exposure to security risks in sign-in and account management pages, helping meet organizational security and compliance requirements.
  • jQuery removed
    The jQuery dependency has been fully removed, reducing the attack surface and eliminating known vulnerabilities.
  • Bootstrap upgraded to version 5
    Upgraded from the end-of-life version 3 to the current version, resolving vulnerabilities that were no longer being patched.
     
• Improved sign-in experience 
  When SSO (single sign-on) is enabled, the email/password option is now less prominent. Users are guided toward the correct SSO flow, reducing confusion and support requests.
   
• Modernized interface
  • Updated styling
    Login, registration, and profile management pages now use modern UI components aligned with the Fotoware Alto design.
  • Content cleanup
    The outdated About Alto page has been removed, and external links have been reviewed and updated.

Coming soon

• Improved account approval messaging
  In an upcoming release, messages shown to users awaiting administrator approval will be clearer. Also, organizations will be able to configure a custom contact email for user guidance.
