Deployment

This release is being gradually deployed and will be available on all tenants soon. 

New functionality

• HEIC files are now supported, which means you can upload, index, store, and view HEIC files just as you can with any other supported file type. There are some known issues with this functionality; these will be fixed in an upcoming release. For more information about supported file types, see Supported file formats.
• A new version (8.0.870.0) of FotoWeb Desktop is available in the Download Center. 

Improvements

• Adobe has deprecated ExManCmd. UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent (UPIA) is the new tool for managing plugins. Command-line installation of a Fotoware plugin for an Adobe product has been updated to reflect this change. UPIA is supported in FotoWeb Desktop version 8.0.870.0 which is available in the Download Center.
• When someone signs a consent form, the text for selecting categories for consent has been improved. Please select the consent you wish to give has been replaced with Please select the categories you approve for consent. For now, this has been translated into Norwegian only; all other languages will be updated in an upcoming release. 

Fixed issues

The following issues are fixed in this release: 

• The tooltip was not displayed for Set Status or Set Rating actions. 
• When previewing an image, the x icon to close the search bar was unavailable when searching in bag fields.
• Users without the Manage taxonomies permission could see the option to add taxonomies.
• Adobe plugins were failing to install on Mac using the FotoWeb Desktop. The updated version of FotoWeb Desktop (8.0.870.0) fixes this issue. 

Known issues

• When you download HEIC files, they lose metadata. This will be fixed in an upcoming release. 
• Previews are not generated for HEIC photos taken with the iPhone 15 Max Pro. The placeholder image is shown instead of thumbnails and previews. This will be fixed in an upcoming release.
