Why might items be restricted from editing?

Goal: I want to add a tag to three Content Items in my selection.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

  1. I selected ten items for batch editing.
  2. Under Metadata, I see an overview of Assigned Layers and Available Layers for the ten selected items.
In the Assigned Layers section, each layer shows the number of items to which it is assigned.
  3. I select the Basic information layer.
  4. I see that I have four PDF files in my selection, only one of which has the Documentation tag assigned.
  5. I select the Documentation tag on the Content Item where it has been assigned and select Add to form. The Documentation tag appears in the Keywords field on the form.
  6. From the drop-down list, I can select Add, Overwrite ,or Remove. In this case, I want to add the tag.
  7. Using the Ctrl key, I select the remaining three PDF files.
  8. I select Save (which displays 3 to indicate the number of selected Content Items).
  9. The Documentation tag is added to the selected items.

Why might items be restricted from editing?

  • You may not have permission to edit the metadata of this item. Your Picturepark administrator can help you here.
  • The content item does not allow the layer to be added. Layers can be restricted to e.g. images only, so you may not be allowed to add the layer to an audio file.
