To rename a single asset, first select it in the grid. Then click on the Rename button in the action bar.
The dialog that comes up lets you choose a new name for the asset. Type in the new name and click on Rename to process the asset.
Note that the asset's original file extension will be preserved.
Renaming a whole selection of assets
If you'd like to rename a whole selection of assets, just make the selection and then click on the Rename button in the action bar. You will be prompted for an asset prefix, to which FotoWeb will add running numbers to avoid creating duplicate names. Type in the new asset name and click on Rename to process the assets.
Preservation of album links when assets are renamed
If an asset has been added to an album, it's the asset's file name that links it to the album. When renaming files in FotoWeb that have been added to an album, FotoWeb also updates the album's link to the file with the new filename.
However, if an external system is used to rename an asset that exist in a FotoWeb album, the asset will disappear from the album.
