Troubleshooting: Activation fails with "Error 50040/0"


This error code means that your product key is no longer valid. It has likely been replaced at some point by an Agreement renewal.


You need to log into your account here:

Select Licenses in the top banner to retrieve your product key. If the key that is there is the same as the one you are trying to activate, go to the Agreements tab. You might have an Agreement that is ready for fulfillment.

After fulfilling your Agreement, a new key will be delivered to the primary contact person associated with the Agreement (you can see who on the Agreements tab).

New licenses will also be available under Licenses once they're issued.
