Specifiers to search in specific fields

Note: The specifiers in this article can be used from FotoStation. They can also be used in FotoWeb when adding search filters to a FotoWeb archive and when adding search filters to an FotoWeb archive's access list
For information about the search queries that can be used in FotoWeb, see Search expressions.

The specifiers below refer to file properties that fall outside the scope of the metadata configuration, but you can refer to them directly using special codes.

There are also operators available that can insert dynamic content in a field.

IPTCxxx

xxx is the metadata field number. Ex: IPTC005 for the Title field.

Image Color

FQYIC

BW, RGB or CMYK

File Type

FQYFT

Use 4-byte codes: JPEG, TIFF, 8BIM etc.
This has the advantage that, for example, both .tif and .tiff files will be found.

Specify exact pixel width or use a numeric range search to find pictures within a certain size range.

This will find files located in folders with the word holiday in the folder name.
