A new version of the Picturepark Content Platform will be released.

Version: Picturepark Piz Roseg (11.7) will be released on 24-June-2023.
Main changes: Customizable Previews, Emails in Comments, and Metadata Export in Collections

Piz Roseg (3937m), located in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, is a prominent mountain in the Bernina Range with three notable summits. The first ascent to the Schneekuppe was accomplished in 1863, while the highest point was reached in 1865. Separated from Piz Scerscen by Porta da Roseg, its Swiss side features a steep ice slope of up to 70°. The mountain's 700-meter north-east face offers challenging routes with a notable mountain range, first climbed in 1890.

Customizable previews

Customizable previews enhance efficiency, organization, and user experience by providing visually appealing representations for zip files, virtual items like Press Kits, and others.

Customizable previews enhance user efficiency by enabling them to quickly identify the content they need without opening every file or reading through metadata. Creative departments may heavily rely on Adobe InDesign Package ZIP Files, which have no preview, so users must download the file to identify its content. Using customized previews, managers can update those packages with a video or an image of the files in the package, which helps users see if they have the correct zip package at hand.

Another main advantage of custom previews is the option to have a video as a preview for a zip package. For zip packages containing all content items of a promo video, the actual video can be used as a preview.

This feature promotes better organization by visually representing content, making it easier to categorize and manage. Furthermore, custom previews create a more intuitive and user-friendly system, elevating the overall user experience.
The versatility of custom previews allows for the use of various content types without previews, such as packages, 3D renderings, or CAD drawings, increasing the system's adaptability.

Highlighting users in comments

By highlighting emails in mentions, notified users can respond immediately to targeted comments, leading to improved teamwork.

Picturepark offers a commenting feature that enhances collaboration among team members. By highlighting user mentions as email links in the comments, specific users are now not only notified but can be easily recognized. This enables the user to promptly see the mention and respond to directed comments, leading to improved teamwork.

This new feature requires the role permission to list users.

The feature increases accountability and ownership, leading to faster problem resolution and a more efficient workflow as users do not have to read the whole text but only look for their email address.

Metadata export in collections

The export in collections enables users to easily share or analyze metadata outside of Picturepark, promoting data accessibility.

One-click metadata export for files within a collection provides users with several benefits, including increased efficiency and ease of use, as well as simplified creation of Excel files containing metadata for selected content only.

Intuitive access management

The intuitive access management simplifies complex tasks, such as setting up a new user or changing permissions.

The new intuitive, user-friendly interface makes it easy for admins to set up and manage users, roles, and permissions, reducing the likelihood of confusion and errors during setup that could impair functionality. This is especially the case when working with roles and permissions. Administrators can set up a role with appropriate permissions and directly add users to that role, without switching views.

The adaption of the interface to the overall layout improves the user experience by providing a standardized approach for all areas in Picturepark. Users, Roles and Permission Sets are displayed in list views as known from schema and list management.

The detail views using the 2-column layouts show all the needed information at first glance.

The access management main menu is incorporated into the Picturepark main menu, allowing easier access to users or roles without giving access to all areas.

Further changes

  • Super admins can hide registration on the login page of Picturepark to control who can request access to the system and comply with data protection guidelines.
  • Users can see their assigned user roles in their user profile to easily understand their level of access and responsibility in the system.
  • The XMP mapping area has been adjusted to the overall layout of Picturepark with the list views for all XMP mappings.
  • The main menu of Picturepark has submenus for the areas access management and settings with the channel management, Business Rules, XMP and others.

🚨 Changes To API & SDKs

We will introduce minor API changes only with the upcoming Picturepark Release “Piz Roseg” (v11.7). However, we recommend you to review all changes made if you are responsible for integrations:

https://picturepark.com/apichanges

Please verify if the changes will affect your integration and adapt it accordingly if needed. If you use our SDK’s or samples like the Content Portal, we recommend updating to the latest version:

  • Picturepark.SDK.DotNet
  • Picturepark.SDK.TypeScript
  • Picturepark.SDK.Samples (including Content Portal)

Suppose you want to test your changes in advance. In that case, we can provide you with a functionally limited clone running on the latest 11.7 preview code base within our stage environment (free provisioning of such a stage system depends on your subscription plan or partner status).
