Setting the MongoDB instance that FotoWeb uses

MongoDB settings
FotoWeb uses MongoDB to store metadata about assets in the Fotoware system. Starting with Feature Release 20, MongoDB is installed and managed separately from FotoWeb. FotoWeb can connect to a MongoDB instance or a MongoDB replica set, which can provide redundancy and high availability.
When using a MongoDB replica set, you must define the replica set name and the MongoDB hosts in the FotoWeb configuration. To do so, open the FotoWeb settings app.
Go to Settings > Database.

Configure the MongoDB connection in FotoWeb settings. To connect to a MongoDB replica set, select Connect to a MongoDB replica set, enter the replica set name, and then enter the MongoDB hosts. Use Add host to add additional hosts.
Note
In FotoWeb 8.1 and earlier, MongoDB was installed as part of FotoWeb. When using the bundled MongoDB instance, the MongoDB server must be set to localhost, rather than the server's hostname.
When FotoWeb runs using its own bundled MongoDB instance, the MongoDB server MUST be set to localhost, not the server's actual hostname. Otherwise, FotoWeb will assume that it has been configured to use an external MongoDB instance and is then no longer responsible for starting and stopping the MongoDB instance itself.
