Renaming a single asset
To rename a single asset, select it in the grid and then select Rename in the action bar.
The dialog that opens lets you choose a new name for the asset. Enter the new name and select Rename to process the asset.
Note that the asset's original file extension will be preserved.
Renaming a whole selection of assets
If you'd like to rename a selection of assets, select the assets and select Rename in the action bar. You will be prompted for an asset prefix, which FotoWeb will append running numbers to avoid duplicate names. Enter the new asset name and select Rename to process the assets.
Preservation of album links when assets are renamed
If an asset is added to an album, its filename links it to the album. When renaming files in FotoWeb that have been added to an album, FotoWeb also updates the album's link to the file with the new filename.
However, if an external system is used to rename an asset that exists in a FotoWeb album, the asset will disappear from the album.
