Users can sign in to FotoWeb on a web browser by entering their FotoWeb credentials (username and password) or using SSO. When using SSO, users authenticate via an external identity provider that is usually already used in their organization. The same browser-based sign-in experience is used for the regular web UI and for integrations (mobile and desktop apps as well as external web apps) whether or not SSO is used.

SSO provides added security due to a centralized, dedicated authentication solution with advanced features such as multi-factor authentication. SSO is usually used in combination with an authentication provider such as Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory). Microsoft ADFS, or similar, or SAML.

Tip:

When configuring single sign-on for one of the authentication mechanisms, you can decide whether it should be possible to "override" SSO so that users can manually input a username and password to log in. This way, you can have a combination of users with and without SSO authentication, so users can log in with SSO while external users can log in manually using an assigned username and password.
