Configuring workflows
When building a workflow system using FotoWeb or integrating FotoWeb into an existing workflow, Actions and Markers are the key components. Users can drop assets onto an action to transfer them to a destination, or to trigger a metadata operation or execute a webhook to integrate with other systems.
Assets that are transferred to a folder can be tagged with metadata in the process, or you can update the original file with information about where the copy was transferred. Using Fotoware Color Factory or other processing software you can use Actions to apply additional processing to your files as they are sent to an output.
FotoWeb also has built-in processing that allows you to perform image resampling, CMYK conversion and other types of processing without the need for additional components, or you can combine processing profiles with additional external processing before the user takes delivery of the files.
- Creating and configuring actions
- Actions are used when you want to send a file to a destination such as a network share or a workflow process, and/or to update assets with metadata. Learn how to create and configure actions in this guide.
- Creating and configuring markers
- This guide explains how to configure markers that indicate the workflow state of the assets in your archive. You will learn how to make markers interactive, so that you can trigger events in much the same way as with Actions.
